Five Years Held Hostage Hostage…. Bob Levinson

5 years. Over 2000 days. 33 years in service to his country and the FBI. Yet he is still held hostage.

I feel for his family, for his associates, for his country.

boblevinson

I saw the interview by Larry King of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad back in 2010 and ‘jad clearly states Levinson broke a law. He referred to lawbreaking atleast 3 times. King went to break and came back without asking the one question he should have….

“What law did he break?”

Also during the ‘interview’, the female translator skips or has difficulty with a segment of Ahmadinejad’s answer. I suggest people look at that interview and watch and listen to how smoothly she translates what he says…up until that point.

go to 4:00 and listen as she stumbles… She doesn’t break like that for a long time when compared to the rest of the interview. He said something she tried to rephrase.

But whatever the case may be… Levinson has been held too long. And the longer he’s held, the more it looks like he was there doing something that the gov’t can’t acknowledge.

Ofcourse, that could be the ploy from Iran to begin with. Here they have a actual gov’t agent… not just a skier or a hiker…. but a real live agent of the US gov’t. Iran is all about propaganda victories. If they could have gotten a confession or something from Levinson, they would have… all they have is some photos of him holding signs. Hardly a ‘confession’.

Whether Levinson was on a mission (“disappeared while working”)… unlikely given his diabetes, hypertension, etc (if true), is irrelevant now. What is relevant is making his family whole again.

2 or 3 yrs ago his captors sent a video of him as ‘proof of life’. In it he stated he was almost out of meds and expressed emotional anguish that 33 years of service should mean something.

This is a black spot on the administration and our gov’t. He is one of our own. I can only recall what transpired back in 1980 after only 444 days…and what should happen now.

Pressure our gov’t to have Bob returned home. If he commited a crime demand Iran state the offense. Is he being held like the ‘enemy combatants’ in Guantanamo? Then declare him an enemy combatant.

God Bless you Levinson family. You deserve better. Much better

My perfectly reasonable post in favor of gun control was buried because the gun brigade doesn’t actually tolerate objections. If your argument can’t be countered with the some inane reference to the 2nd amendment… they will bury you.

Max, it’s amazing how foolish people are today. Do you think this generation is the first ever? When people are banned and disarmed Tyranny follows. Its the NATURAL course of events.

I am surprised you think the ‘gun brigade’ buries your post. Perhaps you need to rethink your stance if you are being outweighed by a significant number. Reflect on common sense and not utopia.

I don’t know what generation you think I belong to. But look around the world. There is not tyranny by the government where there is gun control. Its not a natural end to gun control. Its just not.

But what I will say is that the history of no gun control in our country has lead to the highest rate of gun violence in 1st world and much of the 3rd world. In fact the only tyranny going on is the tyranny of the gun lobby and gun owners.

I know that a full 70% of Americans support gun control.

Wow? Really, 70%? The same 70% that have been dumbed down and been educated in ever so great public school system that we are so proud of?
“There is not tyranny where there is gun control???”
I wonder if the Libyans or now the Syrian rebels would beg to differ with you about their so gracious and benevolent dictators Assad and Gaddify…
Tyranny takes many forms friend…
Webster dict. (also a great patriot)
Definition of TYRANNY
1
: oppressive power ; especially : oppressive power exerted by government

Taxes fits into this….

2
a : a government in which absolute power is vested in a single ruler; especially : one characteristic of an ancient Greek city-state

b : the office, authority, and administration of a tyrant

One class, one party rule…communism

3
: a rigorous condition imposed by some outside agency or force

Hmmmm outlawing and banning items…

4
: an oppressive, harsh, or unjust act : a tyrannical act

Taking my beanie babies away..

And ‘history of no gun control’

holy moses.

There are ‘gun free zones’ EVERYWHERE.. DC, Chicago, NYC…There have been gun control laws in this country… and they’ve failed every time.

And where is gun crime most prevalent?
Yep.

“Tyranny of the gunowners and lobby…”

Wow…. read the definition again.

I know exactly what tyranny means. But we can pick one of yours.

: a rigorous condition imposed by some outside agency or force

We live with threats of violence from gun owners who claim the constitution guarantees them the right to attempt to over throw the U.S. government. Very few of them belong to well regulated militias.

My world and my kids world is more dangerous because you have this strange belief that more ability to commit violence creates less violence.

You pick the percentage. Its well over 50% in any of them.

Look. I know guns. I know them well. You aren’t a better American than I am because you believe in more guns. Here is what I can guarantee you. If all guns were gone we’d have less violent society. That is not in question. You can’t shoot at me and I won’t be shot.

Your statistics are skewed or just wrong.

I don’t think we have anything in common unless you are a weapons expert. You don’t sound like one.

Good for you. But we aren’t talking about Utopia are we? No…We’re talking reality.

It IS coming to no good Max. Where do you draw the line with Freedom? What is good enough for you to give up on… can you ask me to suffer that?

All you have to do is see what’s happened at the airports. They hardly have well trained staff with the TSA and they commit personal offenses in the name of safety on 3 yo and grandmothers…
Tactically I KNOW that makes some sense. No matter what you believe friend, I am far more experienced than you care to acknowledge..
Back to the point… The TSA bungled up this airport screening based on 19 hijackers causing 3000 deaths.
They were given a mandate and they implemented it.Granny and lil’ sis are subjected to invasive searches… the only ones exempt are the power brokers in DC, etc.

Funny about that. Imagine… them passing laws or regs they don’t have to follow…

My fault my ass.

Dude… Twin Towers were attacked 9-11-2001

TSA formed… 11-19-2001

That is the calibre of all the information you spew.

If you haven’t seen this… when we read what you guys write… it sounds like Alex Jones. I’m serious.

The biggest threat to PM is AJ. That is how it feels when we try to talk about this. Our biggest threat is you. You are willing to act on completely bogus information.

So lump me in with ol’ AJ eh? That was pretty scary to see. I believe he has his opinions, I can’t judge him other than to say he was emotional, and that did not serve him well in that forum.

I am trying to reason with you from a point of sense.. .when 9/11 happened is irrelevant. The facts are the freedoms that WERE present before 9-11-01 are gone.

I used to walk my wife all the way through the terminal and walk her to the gate.
I used to take pictures of planes on approach. The airport we’re close to had a road that passed right by the approach. Used to watch them forever…It was such a popular little turn off the county graded and graveled the turn off. I used to take pictures of buildings and architecture…
I used to run through the mall when I was young dodging and spinning in amongst the crowd…(that actually helped in my football career)
There used to be tobacco smokers every where.. Now the gov’t is wondering where all the tobacco tax money going to come from??
Now that there are more Hybrids people aren’t paying gas tax…. so we gotta tax the hybrids more…
And I’m not EVEN going to say much about the temporary income tax passed to pay for WW1…
Once Gov’t starts its intrusion, it continues until the people say enough. And then they just wait til the anger subsides to continue the march towards ‘utopia.’

Max, I don’t know how to convey my feelings about this issue and the path the country is on. I mean I want you to believe that I am serious, caring, scared, and determined. I am profoundly in love with my country and her liberty. That liberty demands my understanding of the opposition and their tenets.

But it is a reciprocal responsibility. It HAS to be reciprocal. As you said my ‘more guns’ doesn’t make me more American.

Be well.

Into the New Year…. 2013 A Year of Challenge

There are so many issues that are encroaching onto this nation as we head into 2013.

Hurricane Sandy, Fiscal Cliff, Sandy Hook, all brought to fore a realization of various weaknesses that are plaguing the USA.

I, personally, am still unemployed, going on 3 months now,so I have a few issues to deal with as well.

But I am only an individual. The nation is in peril, as the biggest conflagration is not the economy or entitlements, but “Gun Control”. Sandy Hook Elementary saw 20 innocent 10yr old kids slaughtered, along with 6 adults and the killer. 27 souls were sent to the afterlife by the insanely idiotic murderer.

Some people think that the best answer is to attack the weapon that is the scourge of incidents such as this. Some people think there are 3.75 MILLION assault weapons here in the US. These same people articulate the position that the it would be smart for the country to “buy back” these evil black guns (hell we can charge the makers as racist thus these crimes are hate crimes and…..). What they DON’T ‘articulate’ is that besides the BILLIONS it would cost to execute the policy, the sheer ANGER from the passage of a law of this type would cause untold anarchy in the streets and in DC proper.

Liberals have this mental ability to IGNORE the consequences of their proposed actions. The examples would fill up this blog for months.

In every example, unintended consequences run amok and the result is more and more cash to improve the condition. Instead of thinking the policy through, they see the emotional solution and discount logic.

Image

Banning guns has never worked in any society it has been tried. Australia, the UK, others have seen their gun crime rise… Which is hard to consider since each is an ISLAND nation.  The OTHER possible eventuality are the nations where it worked TOO well and in most instances fatal to it’s citizens. Germany, USSR, Cuba, China, etc. each proved that confiscated weapons and disarmed citizens were paths to totalitarian rule and mass graves.

The Waning Life of the USA

I sit here, unemployed for the 2nd month, pondering what comes next in life. Barack has been re-elected, the Senate remains in Dem hands and the GOP House is witnessing in-house purging instead of promoting a unified and strong front as the Republics only remaining check and balance to Obama’s dominance.

Instead of tackling the inevitable, our country continues it’s march into mediocrity.

Education is a crock. People from all over come to learn from our colleges and then go back home and use that education to help their country, while our kids are not allowed to attend either because of ‘student visa’ grant advantages or because our kids can’t read.

Public school is a travesty, but lets pour more money into it anyway. Yeah, thats worked so well over the last 40 yrs.

Immigration is great for America, but we really don’t have time to make everyone go through the correct process so we’ll let 15 million in and THEN award them amnesty…See, it works better like that.

Our military has the best weapons and the most powerful force… but lets start culturally modifying the force and usurp the big three values (Duty, Honor, Country). High level Generals have committed serious crimes and dalliances, women get pregnant on purpose to avoid rotation, gays are out and proudly strutting… and the equipment is crumbling from age. We again approach the Carter years where we’re a Paper Tiger. All the while the world gets more volatile and dangerous.

A generation, my sons, is practically void of a future. Educated, well mannered, and eager to learn, kids my sons age have been stripped of their all important early working years where they make mistakes and can quickly recover and learn from those mistakes. Now, as they age, they’ll be expected to perform at a veteran level for their age without regard to their actual experience. They’ll have to suck it up and adapt more quickly and not drop the ball (opportunity) when it comes.

That’s a lot of pressure for a person who might not have had a job in 3 years.

The country’s work ethic is coming under assault. how many jobs or chores can a man give a 21-24 YO? There is a time that people start out on their own and step away from the nest. but it’s a part of the process. A friend of mine, who has a son I used to coach on my sons baseball team, was lamenting his sons absence of choice or chance to make his mark in this world. He was saying that his son talked about the Military, talked about this or that… but is lost in a void of inaction.

A teen gets some sort of PT job and gets fired in a couple of months because he is late more than not… Then they get another job and get canned for not listening well enough… You LEARN from your mistakes. Thats why they call these jobs ENTRY.

As you age, you become more serious about your job. You get there early, you work hard and listen more. You learn how to become valuable. You start teaching newbies the ropes. You rise in stature and responsibility.

But that curve is being interrupted by this “new normal” economy.

I used to be of the opinion that I could roll out of bed and get a job. I’ve had 57 in my 31 years in the workforce. I’ve learned how the world works. I know exactly what people expect from their employees.

What I am worried about is that the new generation is being sacrificed already at the age of 20-25.

The implications of this continued ‘new normal’ will cause dependence on the .gov and will give the private sector a vast void in employable citizens in the workforce.

My daughter, on her first day of job hunting, got hired at a store in a local mall. Then the owners friend needed help, and BAM a 2nd job. The THAT guys friend needed a worker..and BAMMM a third job! My son? Not a one… not an interview in months.

Who knows? Someone gets chances, another is not…. same family, same rearing…

One can assume it’s the “War on Men” but I’m unconvinced that is the cause.

Either way, its bad news. People HAVE to work.

What is wrong in our nation pervades throughout the economy. The military is downsizing, thus a massive amount of veterans will flood into the civilian workforce, yet the military will be haunted by losing so many high qualified experienced soldiers. The Public school system will continue to mash out a flood of horribly dis-educated citizens that have to be RESCHOOLED in order to fill even the rudimentary of decent jobs people expect after school. Mediocrity in piss poor out

A Rhyme from the Desk of Honesty

There once was a Democrat, from Illinois, a grand total of less than a decade in elected service had he… Promise this promise that, ‘fundamentally change’ this great country was where it was at.
SO full of Hope and Change was he, he refused to get off the neck of people like me.
He seemed so perfect, so beautiful, so inclusive.
But the truth has been so elusive.
The media cooed at him from the first day on the scene
That is not their job and never has been.
Now he’s been reelected and serves for 4 more
the rest of the ride will surely be not a bore.
The fiscal cliff, including massive taxes
will make America wish for picks and axes.
Death tax, Health Care, Capital Gains increase too
We gotta get mo revenue!
One day not too far from now,
The media will hang their head in shame.
For there will be no one else to blame.

Free Thoughts From the Desk of Honesty

I often wonder if other people think. I mean they go about their daily lives, seemingly oblivious to the doom and destruction that is (and has been) wrought onto our nation over the last 50 yrs.
They drive their cars, listening to their Iphones, talking or texting on their smartphones, yet give very little attention to the fact that their various freedoms are being dissolved with every breath they take.
Thoughtless negligence of citizens allows people with evil intent free reign to damage the greatest nation on earth.
I try to keep this blog full of MY thoughts. Not regurgitated reposts from other blogs or news sites. I’m from the time where you were taught that you as an individual were powerful enough to get up on the soap box and let loose onthe government and influence the world around you.
A lot of people allowed that right to atrophy in the past, but starting in the year 2010, the grass roots reignited and led a TeaParty landslide. But now is there staying power in the TP?
If the GOP wins with a huge push by the TP, will the elites stay firm to the conservative agenda or will they compromise and wilt under WASHINGTON-itis?
If there is a massive sweep by the GOP there needs to be follow through.
I mean THIS is what we’re competing against:
How can smart people spout these things with any credence? How can they sleep at night or look at themselves in the mirror? Is the POWER by being in Washington REALLY worth dishonesty? “In Chainnns!”, “Back to Jim Crow”, “Tornado through rest homes”… really?

GOP Looks Like Winners

In the 2 Presidential debates Mitt Romney looks like a serious Presidential representative, while BHO looks desperate, infantile, and classless. I will give Barack some ‘props’, he came back in the 2nd debate like he had something to lose. But he was a paper tiger. Nothing but fluff and platitudes. He has zero to show for his 4 yrs.
Oh wait…
Obamacare (he likes the term)
10%-13% real unemployment
Green jobs by the millions!!!! … ohhhh, I guess that flopped
Gun running…
Benghazi….
He can’t run on his record.
I’m not going to demonize or insult the current President. He is a person. He has red blood and a brain. He has a unique outlook on what makes America work.
His philosophy works ONLY in academia. NOT in Cuba… NOT in USSR… NOT in Mao’s China.. and goodness sakes NOT in North Korea…
What do the Occupy/Commies/anarchists espouse to love? What do they aim for? EQUALITY? Workers rights?
Where has that been more effective than in the Free Enterprise arena that isthe United States?
You believe we have poverty? Why is it that millions of illegals from ALL over spend every cent they have to coyotes to cross into America for what?
A CHANCE. Their ‘homeland’ gives them so little that they are willing to give it all up to come to a strange land and find work… (and free healthcare and gov’t subsides… but I digress)
America IS paved with gold apparently. Compare us to almost every other country andwe have the most liberal immigration laws, citizenship laws and gov’t subsides qualifications.
And he goes around apologizing for us.
He thought since he was ‘of the world’ that the world would love him. What he is finding out is that we have PAID for alliances with some dirty characters (Pakistan, Egypt, Libya) and it’s kicking him in his rear.
If Romney loses, it’ll be because Hell actually DID freeze over.

Remembering

9-11-01

The day the World changed for us Americans. There was relative peace in the US before 9-11. We hadn’t been engaged in any meaningful combat since Gulf War 1 under George Bush41. Before that we had disposed of Panama Dictator Noriega in 1989 and rescued hostages/students in Grenada back in 1986(+/-).

We have had major deployments of our forces in constant imminent danger for the past 10+ years in two separate theaters (areas of conflict) WHILE maintaining High Alert peaceful military presence elsewhere in the world.

We had 3000 people killed on 9-11-01. The cost of avenging their deaths have been steep. Our victories have been many and the justification true. The heroes that are on the front line understand the reasons and most do not want to see a job half done.

We can’t build a perfect world or nation out of the shambles that have been Iraq and Afghanistan, but we can hope to provide the peoples of those countries a chance… A chance at a life without fear of persecution or retribution. A life more liberated in education and the prospects of girls attaining what their mothers dared not pray for. A future for boys where they are not relegated as fodder for vendettas and foolish grudges. A chance where they are limited by their BRAINS, and not what hollow notion their leaders might institute at a moments notice.

We can honor the victims of 9-11 and our fallen soldiers by giving our all here at home as they have truly given all 6000 miles from home.

I am still of the opinion that we are there with the hopes of planting the seed of Freedom in the desert of perpetual conflict that is the middle east. Odds and history are stacked against the goal. But what if no one had stood up 236 years ago for us?

Embrace today and love your family.

Thank a vet.

J.Akio US Army Officer:

“Todd,

Our Nation, Torn Asunder, Hollowed Be Thine Future Part 1

Background—
236 years ago, a great experiment was established. Blood and tears were shed, but by 1789 the task was completed. Our country has seen trials and tribulations. Errors and wins. Defeats and victories. But now the time is coming when multiple societal shifts are fast approaching.

Today and Near Future–
Over the last month, events have taken place over a wide array of societal arenas. From the SCOTUS overturning of portions of the Arizona Immg. Law and then the ObamaCare ‘taxation’ legality loophole.
We then had the LOST (Land of the Sea Treaty) that barely was stalled in the Senate. Thankfully, just enough Senators opposed this measure.
Then we have the ATT UN Gun Treaty coming up for a vote, and low and behold a mass murder involving small arms takes place 2 weeks prior to this all important vote.
We also have what is called the ‘Financial Cliff’ coming up January 1st 2013. The Bush Tax Cuts (in effect for 10-12 yrs.. so really aren’t they then ‘The Norm”?) are due to expire, the social security payroll tax cuts, as well as the activation of the Congressionally-mandated $1.2 trillion in spending cuts and the kicking in of a whole new set of fees and taxes related to Obamacare. In 2013 we’re talking about a 4% decrease in GDP just with the OCare and tax hikes, and thats not what we need.
During 2008 40% of America’s wealth evaporated. Mortgages went ‘underwater’.

Did that alter the BANKS behavior?? Heck no. They used the same tactics that caused the mortgage crisis on gov’t student loans!!!! And now 11 Global banks have are being investigated for rigging the LIBOR (which is a tool that sets the international interest rates) and manipulating it. While those were GLOBAL banks (like Barclays and UBS). Barclays CEO Bob Diamond quit after testiying before Congress… What’s scary is that almost FIVE years ago (Aug.07) another Barclays Officeer quit, a collateralised debt obligations (CDOs) officer, Edward Cahill quit after Barclays was exposed during the ’07 sub=prime mortgage debacle. So, we have 2 instances of Barclays that shows poor decisions and risky business ventures that resulted in people resigning and saying, “it’ll never happen again, we promise.”

Credit, once easy, became ridiculously difficult as the banks ‘recapitalised’. That, in common english is, “They went so broke that they had to collect fees on top of fees and incur zero risk and deny most new loans.”
Now we’re hearing that Jan 1 2013 will mark a yr that holds far worse possibilities. Europe, especially Spain and Italy, is reeling from a monetary and lazyFair (yeah Lazy-Fair) mentality of entitlement culture. Last week CNBC programs mentioned “Spanish bank runs”, and other articles mentioned Spanish Businesses railing at the 56% tax levy instituted by Finance Minister Cristobol Montoro.

PENSIONS–
Then we add the cities and municipalities that have gone bankrupt in the past 6 months just in California (Compton, Stockton, Vallego, and Mammoth Lakes) there is a common denomiator. Pensions. It was that way with the Auto companies, and now Municipalities. 30% or more of their expenses are reserved for PENSIONS. The Golden Goose has died people. Now cities, once loathe to ruin their credt and bond ratings, see the value in the Chapter 9 bankruptcy filing. Now as pension obligations escalate, they hide behind Ch9 and escape from under that crippling weight.

Employment Future—
Kids, those that are High school age to 21, used to be able to get minimum wage jobs pretty easily and use that to learn how the ‘work force’ operates. Now, they are competing against older people , freshly laid off from higher jobs, or also older people looking to supplement income that may have cut due to wage freezes. Now they are not given the opportunity to learn to contribute to society like the past 3 or 4 generations and they are aimless. If the 2013 Perfect Storm truly emerges, we’re looking at an entire generation that will be truly lost.
If the Perfect Storm happens, I also see more and more hostility (and rightfully so) towards Illegals, the businesses that hire them and Unions that hide them. There will be thrusts to deport all illegals and the normal workforce in America ahould, by then, be willing to take up the slack, even if its temporary.

The Election—
Coming up in November is a referendum on 2 Americas. We’re asked to choose between one guy who is the Evil we know and the evil that promises to be better. We are asked to choose between a closet Communist that has recently shown a love for ignoring Congress, Committees and the Constitution, and a guy that is so squeaky clean that the opponent has to dig up a hair pulling incident from 1968.
In either case, the President will inherit an economy that is on a decline that will be drastic. By inauguration day, the implosion will have been almost 3 weeks old. Companies will have set up their future funding the day after the final election votes were tallied. If ‘Business friendly’ Romney is elected, hiring may bounce up quickly.
Conclusion
The short term future for America is dim. We’ll pay the price for O’s Socialistic love affair. Well into Romney’s tenure, perhaps 18 months, the economy will be sour and the lead weights around America’s Economic Engine. In the next post I’ll list the litany of challenges that we’ll face in the next year.
As always, our nation is in flux and it will come down to the American people to respond.
